BirthFit is a movement which is about pregnant and postpartum moms taking charge of their bodies, healing, and choices in their care. It is built upon the four pillars of fitness, nutrition, chiropractic, and mindset. Dr. Lauren is a certified BirthFit Professional and has specific training in all four pillars and is passionate about helping women through the motherhood transition.

Webster Technique

 

The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. It involves the sacrum and sacroiliac joints in addition to the muscles and ligaments which surround the womb. Proper use of this technique allows the most optimal space for the growing fetus and comfort for the expectant mother.

Nutrition Counseling

Nutrition is an important and vital component of getting healthy and staying healthy as we age. Dr. Tami has years of experience with different eating patterns and supplements to help her patients move into a healthier lifestyle.

While Dr. Lauren doesn't perform specific nutritional counseling, she incorporates nutrition into BirthFit consultations. 

 

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique used to treat pain and movement impairments. The term "dry" implies that the needling is dry and there is no use of medication or injection. Though quite different from acupuncture, the same types of needles are utilized.

The Graston technique uses instuments to treat scar tissue and myofascial restrictions during rehabilitation. Whether a sports injury, tissue dysfunction from day-to-day habits, motor vehicle collision injury, etc; Graston often allows for faster rehabilitation and healing when the goal is restoring range of motion, eliminating pain, and restoring normal function.A dental implant mimics the form and function of a natural tooth, which consists of a root and a crown. The crown is the visible part of your tooth. It is used to chew food and is therefore the most susceptible to cavities.

Kinesiotaping is a rehabilitative taping technique used to facilitate the body's natural healing processes. It is designed to provide support and stability to muscles, joints, and soft tissue without restriction of movement.

Cupping is an ancient form of therapy which uses multiple size cups that are put on the skin through suction. There are many purposes for cupping including help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being.

 

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization

DNS was developed in Prague by a physical therapist and is built upon the foundation of human movements which are established during the first critical years of life. During those years the nervous system establishes programs that control posture, movement, and gait. DNS utilizes the "neurodevelopmental aspects of motor control to assess and restore dysfunction to the locomotor system," as stated on the DNS website.

Dr. Lauren prefers to incorporate this technique into new patient's first few visits to help them establish restored function and dynamics in addition to chiropractic adjustments.
